It's time to get a bit mystical again. Funny, I used to be offended by that word. Most Hindu men are. Colloquially, it implies that people regard what over a BILLION of us (>15% of world's population) take as every day experience as strange or unusual. Then, somebody pointed out to me the Actual definition of the word.
relating to mystics or religious mysticism.
"the mystical experience"
inspiring a sense of spiritual mystery, awe, and fascination.
"the mystical forces of nature"
It is that SECOND definition that is offensive. The Indian man in me jumps out and yells "How DARE you find my every day reality built on thousands of years of culture 'mysterious' or 'fascinating!'" However, that FIRST definition is spot on! So I can't complain :).
a person who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain unity with or absorption into the Deity or the absolute, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect.
How can anyone possibly be offended by THAT definition?? That describes quite accurately what we're about to explore today.
You may have read about Debbie A Anderon's Vibrational Energy Oracle Cards in the Valentine's Day Gift Guide. She also has "I AM" Vibrational Affirmation cards. Both are at www.Vibrational-Energy.com . Let's give both decks a try today and see how we do!
Here is my Oracle Card reading:
The instructions seem a bit daunting and complicated at first glance. Thankfully, as you can see in the vid, it's A LOT more simple than the pages of instructions provided. Debbie clarifies this herself by noting, "With that deck you can do just about any tarot type spread (again the booklet inside the deck explains this in more detail :) ). For instance there is a past, present and future draw. Shuffle deck, pull a card representing each question... I usually pull them in order but again this is about your intention when using any deck like mine :) ."
She adds, "Once you pull your card, you can either lay them face down (or up) on a surface then read the definition for each card pulled in relation to the question asked. So there are infinite possibilities to this. You can set your own question, then shuffle the deck, pull a card."
My first thought as I was doing my own reading was "Oh no, I don't think I shuffled these well enough. They seem to be being drawn in reverse alphabetical order." But then I went to interpret the cards, and my reading was shockingly spot on to exactly what I was contemplating, meditating, thinking about over the last few days.
Let's go over my results!
The first card I pulled was the Giggle Factor card, and that first position represents my Body, or Me on all levels at the moment. The giggle card is about being in the moment, laughing/enjoying easily and letting go of anything that doesn't serve you. At this stage in my life I've been known to turn down work that doesn't seem fun and just an hour before doing this I said NO to what would have been a good gig $-wise but the guy was an asshole. Had a greedy always dissatisfied vibe about him; No Wu Wei there/totally graceless. It would have been a decision based on fear of the future vs. joy in the now. I picked joy in the now (sorry everyone who makes $ off of me :( - I hope you understand, because this Oracle Deck seems to ;) ).
The second card is the mind card, and I drew the Forces of Nature card. Which is a pretty scary looking card, but it advises "Don't fight what cannot be controlled - let it go!" This card position represents how you feel about a situation/how your mind can assist. Interesting.
The third card is the soul card, which depicts what needs to be done. I got the Forbidden Fruit card, which represents Excitement+Fear rolled into one emotion. It advises to jump in and enjoy, I assume with disregard to consequences.
The next 5 cards are "dimensional cards" and I pulled them in this order:
1. What we used to know/accept: Fair Ring = Be unconventional/eccentric while others look on.
2. What we need to grasp right now: End of Days = Accept where you have reached on this journey (Awesome advice!).
3. What we no longer need in our life: Driving Forces = This card is basically telling me to abandon that whole goal driven mentality, which all I can say is ABSOLUTELY! I stopped having to hustle a long time ago, at this point Trying to do stuff is like pulling sprouts in the hopes they'll grow faster. You just end up killing them instead.
4. Our own self awareness: Dream Catchers = This has to do with the connection between dream states and waking states. I assume in a law of attraction sort of way?
5. What we know and recognize at this time: Creative Explosion = "It is time to release and set free your creative vibration."
The next three cards are Past, Present, and Future cards:
Present (current influences): Cosmic Prosperity = the more you give the more you receive.
Past (what's beind you): Go To the Light = Letting Go of Your Dark Side and step into the Light (in an Iron John sort of way? I definitely just grew from a recent Katabasis, that's for sure)!
Future (possible outcome): Homeward Bound = sanctuary, encouragement & unconditional love.
Here is my Affirmation reading:
Debbie says about this deck, "The I AM Vibrational affirmation deck is a little different because it is full of affirmations. It is what I call the instant gratification type deck. Shuffle the deck, pull a card every day to set your intention based on whatever card you pull. Need some direction on a particular matter, shuffle deck, pull a card.... use it for meditation purposes...shuffle deck... I think you are getting the thread of where this is all going :) ."
I pulled "I AM always connected to the vibration of my higher self." Om! If that's not the preferred affirmation of a guy that reads Vedanta every morning I don't know what is! Thank you I AM vibrational deck, I will heed that mantra.
Although time consuming, this was really fun. I suppose if I learn the cards instead of having to look them up, with practice, the process will be quicker. I am definitely going to extra-shuffle this deck when I do this again, and yes I am definitely playing with these cards again!
